Charlie Key Named Captain of the Pickering Panthers for 2025–26

The Pickering Panthers are proud to announce that Charlie Key has been named Captain for the 2025–26 Ontario Junior Hockey League season.

Key’s journey with the Panthers has been defined by perseverance, leadership, and steady growth on and off the ice. Originally signing with Pickering in the 2021–22 season, Charlie returned to the team partway through the 2023–24 campaign after a stint with the Trenton Golden Hawks, immediately making an impact with 15 points in 11 games. Last season, after time with the AJHL’s Whitecourt Wolverines, he rejoined the Panthers and added 23 points in 32 games, while also contributing two playoff assists in a hard-fought first-round matchup against his former club.

The Panthers open the 2025–26 regular season on September 7th vs Stouffville at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex. Game time 7:30pm. Fans are encouraged to come out, pack the rink, and show their support for Captain Key and the entire roster as they look to make noise in the OJHL this year.
