Friday, October 17 – Pickering 3, Haliburton County 1
Carter Fogarty dominated the Haliburton Huskies in the first of back-to-back home games for Pickering. Fogarty opened the scoring in the first minute and added another on the power play late in the period to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. The Huskies pulled to within one in the second, but Fogarty completed his second hat trick of the season when he converted a perfect shorthanded pass from Evan Elliott in the third. Josh Brady assisted on all three of Fogarty’s goals. Anthony Sciere earned his fifth win of the season, making 30 saves.
Saturday, October 18 – Pickering 2, Lindsay 2 (2OT)
The following night, the Lindsay Muskies came to town and delivered an exciting, evenly matched contest. Lindsay opened the scoring midway through the first, but Fogarty tied it less than a minute later with his 14th of the season. Charlie Key put Pickering ahead 2-1 in the second period before the Muskies equalized early in the third. Neither team could break the deadlock through regulation or two overtime periods, with both earning a well-deserved point.
Anthony Sciere was outstanding again for Pickering, stopping 35 of 37 shots, including a key breakaway save late in the game. Fogarty now sits tied for third in league scoring with 14 goals and 15 assists.
