In the final home game of the regular season, Pickering was looking to secure third place in the East Conference and got off to a strong start. Alex Colangelo scored his sixth of the season midway through the first period to give the Panthers the early lead.

Ty Robar (7th) was in the right place at the right time in the second, cashing in a rebound off a Matt Indovina shot for the only goal of the period and a 2-0 advantage.

Aurora pushed hard in the third, but Jake Mallory redirected a pass from Charlie Key for his 21st goal of the season to provide some breathing room. Anthony Sciere was outstanding in goal, turning aside several quality scoring chances from the Tigers.

Colangelo sealed the win with an empty-net goal, his second of the night, to complete the 4-0 victory.

The Panthers delivered a solid, playoff-style performance, outshooting Aurora 45-32. It was Sciere’s third shutout of the season and his 18th win.
