No Christmas break rust on the Panthers in this game as they hosted the Mississauga Chargers in a matinee game at the Den. It took a while for the legs to get working, but Kailin Chen broke the ice with his 5th mid-way through the first and then added another on a power play later in the second to put Pickering up 2-0. Both goals were assisted by Mondoux and Svicki.

Although the Panthers stormed the Chargers net throughout the game, they had a difficult time putting more past Charger goalie Sebastian Moncada as he stood on his head and got help from numerous blocked shots, deflections and goals posts as the Panthers outshot Mississauga 49-27. Things got tighter in the third as the Chargers made it 2-1 on a deflection in front of the Pickering net, but the Panthers kept pressing and eventually broke through with two more goals later in the period – a PP goal by Ben Pickell and one by Nick Athanasakos, his 23rd of the season.

Glen McInnis had a strong game in the Panther net, making 26 saves, including a couple on Charger breakaways.
