SUNDAY JAN 7 – HALIBURTON 3 PICKERING 2

The Panthers faced the fourth placed Haliburton Huskies tonight, again with a depleted lineup, but this game was far from that played on Friday – it was fast-paced, back and forth, exciting hockey with great goaltending and Pickering deserved a better fate. The Huskies opened the scoring late in the first but Pickering jumped ahead 2-1 on Kieran Litterick’s 14th of the season and then another from Andre Mondoux on a beautiful feed from Nick Athanasakos.

Haliburton tied it up in the third and it looked like it was headed to OT until a defensive error resulted in the game winning goal with only 20 seconds remaining in regulation time. Ethan Beattie played very well in the Panther net making 27 saves.
