Kyle Kavc was traded from the Wellington Dukes to the Pickering Panthers in late October and all he did last night was score the only two goals of the game, sticking it to his former team. Kavc had four regular season goals for the Panthers, but now has three in the four playoff games played. He found a spot in the slot and converted a pass from Landon Stevens just 1:50 into the game and then early in the second, broke in alone from the blue line and fired his second into the top corner to put Pickering up 2-0.

As in the previous two games, once the Panthers got the lead, they were able to shut down the Dukes for the remainder of the game. For a team known for its offensive capabilities, Pickering held Wellington to only six goals in four playoff games. Frustration mounted for Wellington in the final minutes of the game as the Dukes sought to take on anyone in a Panther sweater.

Anthony Sciere had an outstanding game in net making 37 saves for his first playoff shutout. Sciere had a 1.50 GAA and a 0.947 save percentage in the series. The Panthers now get a chance to rest and recuperate as they wait for the completion of the two remaining East Conference series to determine their round 2 opponent.
