The third game in three days proved too much for the Panthers today as they fell to the Markham Royals 8-2. Markham tallied singles in the first two periods, but the Panthers got one back early in the third as William Stewart converted a Kailin Chen pass to make it 2-1. However, Markham responded just 19 seconds later to restore their two-goal lead and then broke the game open with six more unanswered goals, pulling away as the Panthers slowed down considerably in the third period. Chen got his 11th of the season in the final minute of play to round out the scoring.

The Panthers need to rest and regroup over the next few days, but it doesn’t get any easier for them as they face the Collingwood Blues at the Den this Wednesday afternoon, January 29th at 3:00 pm.
