SATURDAY NOV 12 – PICKERING 4 LINDSAY 3 (OT)
Definitely a character-building win tonight for the Panthers, especially playing their third game in three days and missing one of their top forwards (Ben Pickell off to the Eastern Canada Cup). No scoring in the first despite three PP opportunities for each side and Lindsay outshooting Pickering 12-7.
The Panthers fell behind 3-1 in the second with Nick Athanasakos getting the Pickering goal on a great pass from Matthew Panacci. It would have been so easy for the team to play out the third, but instead, everyone dug deep, outshot the Muskies 12-4 and fought back one goal at a time. Panacci made it 3-2 midway through the third and Nolan Connolly tied it up with a rocket four minutes from the end of regulation time. Nick Athanasakos was the OT hero scoring his fifth goal in the last two games. Glen McInnes, playing his first game in over a month, was solid in the Panther net, turning aside 26 shots and getting his first OJHL win.
