SUNDAY NOV 5 – TORONTO JR CDNS 4 PICKERING 2
A wild one in Toronto Sunday night as the Panthers outshot the Jr Canadiens 45-25 but had great difficulty finding the net despite having several breakaways and a penalty shot. Pickering fell behind 1-0 in the first but completely outplayed Toronto in the second. Even though Jamie Darlison converted a beauty pass from Ben Pickell to tie the game, the puck wasn’t bouncing the Panther’s way around the JCR net and they had a go ahead tap in goal disallowed as the net was dislodged by the Toronto goalie. Shortly after, Toronto scored a short-handed goal to take a 2-1 lead.
The Canadiens went up 3-1 early in the third on a goal that Ethan Beattie would definitely like back. The game ended in a wild finish that saw Pickering pull their goalie with about 2 ½ minutes remaining as they buzzed around the JCR net. In that time, Toronto scored an empty net goal, Pickering was unsuccessful on a penalty shot and Hunter Svicki scored with 37 seconds remaining.
