TUESDAY OCT 17 – PICKERING 5 AURORA 4
For the second game in a row, the Panther’s hard work paid off, as they bested the visiting Aurora Tigers 5-4 for their first win in the last 8 games and their first at home. Each team scored one in the first and two in the second to go into the third period tied at three. Panther goals were scored by Kailin Chen (3) with second period markers by Joey Crngarov (3) and Nick Athanasakos (9). Two pretty power play goals about two minutes apart in the third period pushed Pickering ahead 5-3. Jamie Darlison fed a perfect pass to Ben Pickell (3) sitting alone in front of the net and Joey Zhang (2) got the game winner as he converted a pass from Ben Pickell. The Tigers closed the gap with a goal with about 5 minutes remaining but the Panthers fended off their attack for an important win.
Pickering was assessed 22 minutes in penalties to Aurora’s 14 and the Tigers outshot the Panthers 47-29. Aidan Feddema had another strong game in net turning aside 43 shots
