The Stouffville Spirit blanked Pickering 4-0 in the final home game of 2024 on Sunday night. Pickering has been in a funk lately, scoring only two goals in the last four games. Stouffville jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and added another early in the second. Their goalie, Masen Johnston, stoned the Panthers throughout the game, especially in the second period, when Pickering tried to mount a charge to break the shutout. Ian Michelone and Gavin Betts combined duties in net to make 27 saves.

Monday saw Pickering head into Toronto to meet the St. Michaels Buzzers in their final game of 2024. Joseph Cadorin snapped out of his scoring slump in the first period to put the Panthers up 1-0, and that seemed to energize the team. Pickering added three more goals in the middle of the second period within a one-minute-and-fourteen-second span from Alex Colangelo, Quinn Binnie, and Joseph Crngarov to break the game open.

Charlie Key also broke out of a minor scoring slump to put the Panthers up 5-0 at the second intermission. The Buzzers managed to break the shutout attempt of Gavin Betts in the third with their only goal. Betts was solid in net, making 45 saves as Pickering was badly outshot 46-20.

The Panthers’ next game is at home on Saturday, January 4th, as they face the Collingwood Blues at 6:30 p.m.
