The Pickering Panthers are set to take part in this year’s Ontario Junior Hockey League Governors’ Showcase, hosted by the Niagara Falls Canucks at the Gale Centre from September 15–17, 2025.
Presented by MilkUP, the Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s youth lifestyle brand, the Governors’ Showcase brings together all OJHL teams under one roof. The event serves as a premier stage for players to showcase their skill, talent, and character in front of scouts from the NHL, AHL, CHL, CIS, and NCAA programs. With approximately 70% of OJHL graduates moving on to higher levels each year, the Showcase is a proven pathway for player advancement.
The Gale Centre, a state-of-the-art facility in Niagara Falls, offers four NHL-sized ice pads, full-service amenities, and sits in one of Canada’s top destinations — complete with over 200 accommodations, 800 restaurants, casinos, attractions, and of course, the iconic Falls themselves.
Each team will play two games at the Showcase — one designated as a home game and the other as an away game. For the Panthers, that means matchups against the Burlington Cougars on Tuesday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. and the King Rebellion on Wednesday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m.
Pickering enters the Showcase with momentum, having rebounded from a tough 8-0 season and home opener loss to Stouffville. The Panthers quickly responded by edging the Spirit 4-3 on the road before earning a convincing 5-1 win over Mississauga last Friday. That run has the Panthers sitting at 2-1 on the young season.
The Governors’ Showcase is more than just another week on the calendar — it’s a measuring stick for all OJHL clubs and a vital opportunity for players to turn heads at the next level. With their early bounce-back form, the Panthers will look to keep building as they step into the spotlight in Niagara Falls.
